Rappahannock Rising Voices: Empowering Native Children

During the summer, something remarkable happens at the Rappahannock Tribal Center. The laughter of Rappahannock children fills the air, stories from our ancestors are shared, and connections that shape lifetimes are built. This is our Indigenous Youth Summer Camp, the beating heart of the Rappahannock future.

For one full week, our tribal kids step away from the distractions of the world and honor their heritage. They learn the Rappahannock language and songs passed down from our ancestors. They listen to our tribal elders share stories of resilience and history, and discover what it means to walk proudly in both worlds, grounded in culture and ready to lead.

Our summer camp is not merely traditional summer fun. It is a bridge between generations and a place where our youth find belonging, strength, and purpose. The children learn from guest speakers who open new doors to education and opportunity while building a community and friendships that last forever.

But we can only make this possible together.
